Villarreal CF claimed an important victory last Thursday in the Europa League. The team sponsored by Pamesa Cerámica defeated Viktoria Pilsen in El Madrigal 1-0, thanks to a brilliant goal from the Brazilian Leo Baptistao in the 53rd minute.
In the end, it was a fair victory for the Submarine, which in the third round of the group stage of the UEFA Europa League will meet Dinamo Minsk at home in El Madrigal on Thursday 22 October (at 21.05).
Villarreal CF coach, Marcelino García Toral, was satisfied: “We had plenty of chances but we could not pull ahead on the scoreboard in the first half. After the first half hour the game was on a level. The second half of the match was slower, but we were still on top and we didn’t have to face many moments of danger. After today’s match, it all depends on us and that’s what we want. We slipped up in the first match, but that was away from home. I reckon we’re the best team in the group and I think it’s our job to show that’s the case with each new game”.
