The triathlete sponsored by Pamesa Cerámica, Javier Gómez Noya, reached second place last Saturday in the Hamburg World Series. Despite coming very close to victory, this position secures his leadership in the World Series with just three events to go: Stockholm, Edmonton and Chicago.
The Spaniard expressed his satisfaction while at the same time recognising the superiority of his French rival: “The swimming and cycling went off really well, since in a group of nine everyone works hard and we gained a comfortable advantage. I didn’t have my best day in the running and Vincent’s last minute change had me stumped. I’d tried to leave him behind earlier but without success. I have to congratulate him because he’s been really close to winning in the last few triathlons and he’s finally managed it. The important thing is that overall I’ve accumulated points and I’m well away from 6th place which I had marked as the worst outcome. The next event in Stockholm is Olympic distance and I always do better in that than in the sprint”.
